Forever Forward

It is with mixed emotions that I announce October 19, 2012 is my last day as a member of the LeanDog family.

I've been a part of LeanDog for a few years now. I remember wings and beers with Cheezy as he enthusiastically shared his vision for what he and Jon Stahl were about to build together.

I remember meeting Jon Stahl and being mesmerized by his energy and passion. In the beginning I was an independent contractor, but I soon joined as an employee and an owner. Back then, I used to say we were "5 guys starving on a boat." Today, LeanDog celebrates their second year on the Inc. 500 list.

The journey has been valuable and has left an indelible mark on me. I've learned about people, teams, leadership, coaching, collaboration, and of course agile. I share a special bond with every member of the LeanDog family; past and present. I treasure that. I treasure them.

But my path now diverges from that of LeanDog. This is not to say that either path is better. Only that my path is mine and I must follow it.

I am incredibly fortunate to have a companion like Jennifer by my side. Together, we've raised two wonderful children. Together, we've navigated numerous challenges. And together, we take the next step.

On October 29, 2012, I join Groupon as a Director of Engineering. There are some interesting and enticing challenges ahead of me. I am anxious for this part of the journey.

I don't know precisely where this path leads. I simply cannot see that far ahead. But I know two things with certainty; I will never be alone in my journey and the only direction is forward.
